Metalworking
Metalworking is the art or process of making useful or decorative items from shaping or reshaping metal. It could be whole objects, parts, assemblies or large-scale structures using a vast range of methods and processes and a vast array of skills, tools and machines. Modern metalworking can be categorised into 3 broad areas; forming, cutting and joining. Each of these, and the sub categories within, require a large range of both general and specialised machinery including lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, grinding machines and saws.
Printing
Printing can be easiest defined as the process of reproducing text and/or images onto a material or product. There are many different types of printing including offset printing, lithiography, letterpress, digital printing, engraving, screen printing and electrostatic printing. The printing process is usually broken into 3 steps; prepress, press and postpress stages and each of these stages require a large range of specialist machinery.
Plastics
Plastics manufacturing is a large part of the chemical industry and there has been a large increase in usage and demand for plastic (and rubber) as materials. Lightweight, strong but flexible, plastic is easily shaped, leading to widespread use within a broad range of industries and sectors from construction through to packaging. Plastic is a synthetic material that use polymers as the main ingredient and can be split into common plastics (including polycarbonate, polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride) and specialist (or high performance) plastics (including melamine, phenolics, polyepoxide and silicones)
Construction
Construction machines are essential tools for the building and maintenance of modern infrastructure. Industrial equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, cranes, graders, pavers and rollers are used to complete a variety of tasks in the construction process. Each type of machinery has its own purpose and function in helping to construct roads and buildings. By investing in quality machinery, companies can maximize productivity while minimizing costs. This makes industrial equipment an invaluable asset for the construction industry that continues to grow in importance as projects become more complex and demanding.
Agriculture
Industrial equipment and machinery are an integral part of the agricultural industry. From tractors, ploughs, and combines to irrigation systems and balers, these machines help farmers and agribusinesses to maximize productivity. Industrial equipment is designed to be rugged and reliable so that it can withstand the rigors of harvesting, planting, and other activities that are essential for success in the industry.
Handling
Industrial handling machines are essential pieces of equipment used in many industries for the automation of processes such as material movement, packaging, and assembly. Generally speaking, there are three main types of industrial handling machines: conveyors, lift trucks, and palletizers. In addition to these main types of industrial handling machines, there are also a variety of specialized machines designed for specific applications.
Pharmaceutical
Pharmaceutical manufacturing is a highly regulated environment where almost every step and part of the process is now automated with a reliance on high quality accurate machines. These include agitators, centrifuges, chillers, coaters, mixers, ovens, pulverisers, homogenizers and many more. There is also a large amount of specialised packaging equipment including bottling and filling, blister packers, tube fillers and labelling equipment.
Food processing
Industrial food processing machines come in a variety of types used in commercial kitchens and food processing plants, used to prepare, cook, preserve, store and package food products. These include industrial mixers, pasteurizers, homogenizers, grinders, blenders, dough extruders, filling machines, fryers, ovens, dehydrators, fridges and freezers.
Packaging
Industrial packaging machinery is a vital part of many production lines and warehouses. Industrial equipment helps to streamline the packing process, ensuring that goods are securely packed for transport in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The main types of industrial packing machines can be classified into four categories: form fill seal machinery, shrink wrapping machinery, stretch wrapping machinery, and case packing machinery.
Woodworking
Industrial equipment and machinery used in woodworking can vary greatly, depending on the type of work being done. Common types of woodwork machines include table saws, spindle moulders, router tables, bandsaws, scroll saws, jointers, planers, sanders, drills, shapers, and lathes. Each of these machines is designed for specific tasks and requires special set-up, maintenance, and safety precautions and these machines provide a great deal of speed and accuracy that would otherwise be impossible with hand tools.
